Despite representing Samoa at under 17 level and also expressing a desire to be part of Mick McCarthy’s 2002 Ireland World Cup squad, Cahill made his Australia debut in 2004. He is the scorer of the first ever Australian goal at a World Cup and Socceroo fans will be hoping to see more of his corner flag punching celebrations this June.
